In this nature journaling class, we will take time to consider the beautiful mountain peaks at L’Abri.
We will learn to record bird songs and notice their habitat through mark-making and drawing.
As we practice basic color washes to discover the mountain horizon line, we will observe the warm and cool earth tones.

Flora + Fauna Retreats include experiences such as nature journaling, watercolor, farm-to-table meals, hiking, gardening, and ample time for rest and rejuvenation. Each retreat curates experiences that highlight what we can learn and enjoy from that specific season. Spring will focus on daffodils and other early spring blossoms as we explore lessons in renewal + hope. The yellow daffodils cover the property in March and will surely be a source of creative inspiration for our art workshops.
You will be invited to participate in a seasonal harvest or garden activity, as well as art workshops that highlight what is in bloom for that time of year. You will also have time for personal reflection, walking the farm, journaling, or whatever is restorative for your body, soul, and mind. The atmosphere will surely inspire you with its beauty.

I was painting the shadows within the daisy petals to release the delicate light. The violet tones of the honeysuckle and clover create a movement toward a warmer composition that crowned the daisies, inviting the viewer to creative simplicity.
