Dust And Stone
The paint on the pages expresses something I can not articulate in words. While I was in South Africa,
I started to realize how much I cared about how the paints were made. I imagined that the Earth's minerals I saw in Johannesburg National Garden were the same rocks that my colors consisted of. The fluidity of watercolors solidifies to form stone’s hard edges, a poetic tension, a dance.
