There is A River:
An Art Review
With this work, she achieves the depth and feeling of an expansiveness of the Rhone Valley in the Alpine Region of Switzerland. Her large canvases were created in open air, “plein air” on her mountain hikes high up on Alpine ranges in the Canton of Vaud. While studying abroad, these works were her first experience making large scale works, on site. These works reveal a profound respect for materials and love of the natural world. She explores the formal qualities of traditional paintings with great depth, and curiosity. To the effect of her enthusiasm, her paintings move the viewers to deep thought and interior realms of imagination.
